The Arlington Show & Shine Car Show is a cherished community tradition in downtown Arlington, showcasing an impressive selection of vehicles that capture the evolution of automotive design. Originating in 1999, the event was founded by Kenneth and Shirley Countryman, passionate car lovers who envisioned a gathering for like-minded enthusiasts to share their love for vehicles, particularly Chevrolets. Although Kenneth has passed, his legacy continues through this vibrant event that honors both him and Shirley each year.
The Show and Shine Car Show is more than just a car show; it’s a community festival with activities for all ages. The evening before the main event features a free concert, perfect for a family outing. The main event day offers a diverse range of attractions, including live entertainment, food trucks, and local vendor booths. Children can participate in the Kiddie’s Car Show, making it a fun-filled day for attendees of all ages.

2024 Car Show Press Release
Arlington, WA – The annual Arlington Show and Shine Car Show is back and better than ever! This beloved downtown event, which was started in 1999 by Kenneth and Shirley Countryman, will be held on Saturday, June 8 by the Stilly Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The Countryman’s’ love for classic autos, especially the Chevrolet, inspired them to create this event. They would often spend their weekends driving from car show to car show with family and friends, as well as spending Friday nights cruising in Arlington meeting other car enthusiasts. Sadly, Ken Countryman passed away in December, but his legacy lives on through this event. In honor of the Countryman’s, the 2024 Show and Shine will be dedicated to them.
The Arlington Show and Shine Car Show is a favorite in the community and draws visitors from all over the Pacific Northwest. This year’s event will feature classic, antique, muscle, custom, exotic and modern cars on display along the main street of downtown Arlington – Olympic Avenue. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire these beautiful vehicles up close as hoods, trunks and doors open for viewing.
In addition to the car show itself, there will be plenty of entertainment for all ages. On Friday night at Legion Park, there will be a free concert featuring “Illusion of Elvis” that everyone is invited to cruise in and enjoy the show. There will also be a “Tots And Tire” Mini Show as well as food trucks and Axe Throwing. On Saturday, visitors can enjoy live entertainment on stage while browsing through vendor booths at the car show, shopping downtown businesses, or visiting the Arlington Farmers Market. There will also be a Kiddie’s Car Show for young car enthusiasts.
This event not only brings joy to car enthusiasts but also supports local businesses in downtown Arlington. The Stilly Valley Chamber of Commerce is now sponsoring the event with support from S&S Roofing, Moe’s Arlington, and other local businesses. The City of Arlington Hotel Motel Tax Fund has also played a role in making this event possible.
